The Hampstead & Highgate Festival is an annual celebration of the arts which takes place in venues across this beautiful part of north London. Reinvigorated, with a wider range of events than ever before, the theme for 2010 is ‘Inspired by Diaghilev’ and includes music, visual art, dance, film, theatre and walks. Over 40 events take place from 24 September to 3 October.

The Festival draws visitors from across London and beyond, coming to sample the particular delights of two of the most attractive London villages which are easy to get to with both underground and overground trains serving the area.

There’s a new team behind this year’s Festival — Artistic Director Danny Driver, and Festival Director Gwenneth Bransby-Zachary who bring years of innovative programme planning and ideas to it. Immediately noticeable is the fact that the dates have changed from spring to early autumn. There’s an overview here or go to the full events listing.
